Are you creative, energetic, and ready to make an art program your own?
Are you an artist, maker, crafter, designer or creative teacher who loves coming up with new ideas?
InclusionWorks is seeking an Art Splash Team Lead to lead our creative arts program for adults with cognitive delays.
Art Splash is more than an art class. It's a hands-on creative environment where individuals design, create and produce products that are shared with the community and sold through Etsy, craft fairs and sidewalk sales.
With up to 10 individuals supported by one staff member and generally a trained volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to lead the creative direction of the program while building relationships, encouraging independence and helping each individual discover and develop their abilities.
What You'll Do
As the Art Splash Team Lead, you'll have real ownership of the program, including:
- Develop and lead creative projects based on individual interests, abilities and goals.
- Teach and assist with hands-on art, craft and design projects.
- Help individuals explore artistic techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpting and other creative processes.
- Help participants use creative technology and equipment, including Cricut machines, heat presses, thermal presses and computers.
- Turn participants' ideas and artwork into finished products for community sales and other opportunities to showcase their work.
- Build genuine relationships while working side-by-side on creative projects.
- Observe and document progress and outcomes.
- Provide direction to artists, interns, volunteers and others working with Art Splash.
- Monitor art supplies and equipment and source materials as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the InclusionWorks team to create an environment that is creative, inclusive, fun and focused on independence.
