Job Description:
A leading vegetation management and utility support services company is seeking an experienced Mobile Road Technician to join our fleet operations team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of medium-duty trucks and specialized tree and vegetation management equipment—keeping our crews running safely and efficiently in the field.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on: Medium-duty trucks (F750s, Freightliner M2s, Internationals) & specialized vegetation equipment (bucket trucks, mechanical tree trimmers, aerial lifts, wood chippers, skid steers, tractors)
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines
- Operate diagnostic software (bonus if you know Cummins Insight, CAT ET)
- Travel daily within a 50-mile radius to service equipment on job sites
- Support storm response operations during major weather events (seasonal, preferred but not required)
- Maintain accurate repair records and communicate job status to fleet operations
What You’ll Need
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Experience with medium-duty chassis
- Mechanical background in hydraulics, diesel, or heavy equipment repair
- Ability to provide your own basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets); company provides specialty tools
- Clean driving record, ability to pass drug screen and background check
- Flexible mindset—comfortable with shifting priorities and different job sites daily
- Bonus points for: Tree care or vegetation management industry experience & Diesel diagnostic software knowledge
Travel & Schedule
- Paid from the time you leave your home until you return
- Overnight travel +30% of the time (hotels and meal allowance provided)
- Company truck dispatched from your home
