Brighton Cabinetry is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Top Coater to join our Finishing Department. Since 1996, Brighton Cabinetry has built a reputation for producing high-quality custom and semi-custom cabinetry through exceptional craftsmanship and outstanding customer service.
As a Top Coater, you will play a vital role in producing premium cabinet finishes by applying stains, paints, sealers, lacquers, and specialty finishes that meet our high standards for quality and appearance. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their workmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This full-time position offers a consistent four-day workweek, excellent benefits, opportunities for advancement, and three guaranteed pay increases during your first year of employment.

- Monday – Thursday
- 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- No weekends

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Apply stains, paints, sealers, lacquers, glazes, and other finishing products to cabinet components.
- Operate spray finishing equipment and utilize hand-finishing techniques to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Perform multi-step finishing processes, including staining, glazing, wear sanding, shading, and brushstroke techniques.
- Mix stains, glazes, toners, and other finishing materials according to established specifications.
- Inspect finished products for color consistency, finish quality, and overall appearance.
- Make color and finish adjustments as necessary to meet product specifications.
- Maintain production schedules while consistently meeting quality standards.
- Clean, maintain, and properly operate finishing equipment and work areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous wood finishing or spray finishing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-step finishing processes and finishing materials.
- Ability to accurately identify and adjust color variations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical demands of the position.
Paid Time Off
- Six paid holidays annually
- One week of vacation after six months of employment
- Two weeks of vacation beginning January 1 following your first full year
- Three weeks of vacation after five years of service
- Sick time accrued at one hour for every 40 hours worked
