Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Repossession Agent, where you will play a vital role in recovering financed vehicles and assets while ensuring safety, professionalism, and customer service excellence. This energetic position requires a proactive approach to locating, securing, and retrieving vehicles through effective communication and mechanical skills. You will operate specialized equipment, manage conflict situations with tact, and uphold company standards to protect assets and maintain positive relationships with clients and customers alike.
Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle locates using GPS, telematics, and investigative techniques to identify the whereabouts of financed assets.
- Safely operate tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, and other specialized equipment to recover and transport vehicles.
- Perform mechanical assessments including automotive diagnostics and basic repairs to ensure vehicle safety during recovery.
- Load and unload recovered vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage conflict situations professionally by employing conflict management skills to de-escalate tensions with vehicle owners or bystanders.
- Maintain detailed documentation of recovery activities, including reports on vehicle condition, location, and recovery steps.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and law enforcement when necessary to coordinate recovery efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair or mechanic work with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics.
- Mechanical knowledge of manual transmissions and automotive systems is essential.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record; experience in commercial driving preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, or similar machinery required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment such as tow trucks or flatbeds.
- Conflict management skills for handling challenging interactions professionally. Preferred qualifications include mechanic experience, automotive diagnostics expertise, familiarity with automotive repair processes, and experience operating heavy-duty equipment like tow trucks or forklifts.
