Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Temporary Phlebotomist to join our clinical laboratory team. Duties
- Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques, adhering to aseptic procedures
- Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper documentation and chain of custody
- Assist in obtaining vital signs and relevant patient information to support diagnostic processes
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by following infection control protocols and laboratory procedures
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide comfort, explain procedures, and answer questions about specimen collection
- Process specimens for transportation to the laboratory, ensuring proper storage and handling according to protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings, with a focus on phlebotomy or blood sampling
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory techniques relevant to specimen collection
- Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is required
- Ability to perform venipuncture confidently using various techniques while maintaining patient comfort and safety
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations
- Understanding of aseptic technique, infection control standards, and specimen processing protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
