Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of primary care and specialized medical services, with the ability to deliver exceptional patient-centered care across diverse populations. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adult populations.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and wound care, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions, including pain management, infectious disease care, and post-acute care planning.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for documentation, order entry, and patient data management.
- Provide health coaching and education to patients on topics like medication administration, nutrition, family planning, and disease prevention.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects to enhance patient care standards.
- Collaborate with specialists in areas such as gastroenterology, dermatology (including dermal fillers), esthetic laser treatments, and hospice & palliative medicine when necessary.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care for remote or underserved populations.
- Assist with triage duties in urgent care or emergency settings, ensuring prompt evaluation and appropriate referral when needed.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current licensure in the practicing state.
- Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques (such as sonography), and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Experience managing complex cases involving acute pain management, ICU or trauma center procedures (Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred), or critical care environments.
- Familiarity with procedures like spinal taps, gastric lavage, pulmonary ventilation management (ventilators), and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Skills in performing minor surgical procedures such as suturing and sterile processing techniques.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and utilization review processes is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams across specialties including behavioral health, geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), and infectious disease care.
