Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Home Health Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead and support our home health nursing team. Duties
- Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily home health operations and staff scheduling to ensure smooth shift coverage
- Supervise nursing staff, including licensed nurses and aides, providing mentorship and performance evaluations
- Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet medical and emotional needs
- Review medical records, documentation, and care documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize resident outcomes
- Monitor adherence to Medicare guidelines, MDS assessments (Minimum Data Set), and other regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Support nurse management in shift management, ensuring adequate staffing levels for quality care delivery
- Facilitate training sessions on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation review for staff development
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards while managing medical records and sensitive information
Skills
- Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments with a focus on hospice care or acute care settings
- Strong leadership skills with proven supervising experience in nursing administration or nurse management roles
- In-depth knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care planning processes
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and record keeping
- Familiarity with Medicare regulations, Medicaid requirements, and reimbursement processes
- Excellent shift management skills to coordinate staffing efficiently across various shifts
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents' families and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Demonstrated ability to manage medical records accurately and review clinical documentation thoroughly
