RESPONSIBILITES/ACCOUNTABILIES:
- Adhere to all pertinent local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations
- Process and Fill all prescriptions as directed.
- Assist to prepare delivery and mail out for daily basis as directed.
- Ensure, in coordination with Purchasing Assistant, that the inventory stock levels of drug items are appropriately maintained.
- Check for overages, shortages, damaged materials and reports discrepancies to supervisor, Purchasing Assistant, or appropriate personnel.
- Ensure proper dispensation of returned medication items; ensure proper reversal of credit claims. Process returns for Narcotics prescriptions, return to inventory or discard as instructed by Pharmacy Management.
- Perform Technician assignments for the day or by special assignment as requested by Pharmacy Management.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the specific pharmacy functions hired to work in.
- Courteously assist all customers, with proper phone etiquette.
- SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
- High school Diploma, or equivalent
- One (1) year previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
- Prime RX software experience Technician preferred
- State issue Pharmacy Technician License
- Skills in usage of fax machine, computer software, copier, and word processing
- Knowledge of and experience with controlled drug dispensing procedures
- Knowledge of state and federal laws for controlled drug prescriptions
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues, facility staff members, and others within the organization
