Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance and care to individuals with diverse needs, promoting independence, safety, and well-being. Your dedication will help create a nurturing environment where clients feel valued and supported every day.
Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Support clients with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care is highly desirable
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong communication skills for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Experience working with residents’ care plans and assisting with medication administration
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and person-centered support
