Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Legal Assistant to join The Perkins Firm, LLC. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to develop their legal skills and gain hands-on experience across a variety of practice areas. As a Legal Assistant, you will support the attorneys and paralegals by managing case files, organizing the calendar, managing numerous details and tasks, drafting documents, and performing administrative tasks that keep our law office running smoothly. This paid position is perfect for someone who is returning to work over time or looking to build a new career.
Experience is NOT important. Desire to Learn, Intelligence and Motivation are MUCH more important.
Duties
- Assist with managing numerous tasks on litigation in discovery, pleadings and motions
- Draft, proofread, and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
- Manage case files through document management systems, ensuring all records are organized, accurate, and up-to-date.
- Conduct thorough document review and data entry to support litigation, transactional work, or regulatory compliance.
- Support attorneys with client interviews by preparing questions and summarizing interview notes for case development.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, courts, and external partners via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
- Assist with filing, scanning, transcription, and other clerical tasks that ensure smooth office operations.
- Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, organizing schedules, and coordinating meetings or court dates.
Experience
- Prior paralegal or legal administrative experience is not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence.
- Proven ability to perform detailed proofreading and transcription accurately.
- Desire to learn and branch out.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette and client interaction experience preferred. Work Days:
- Work for first 90 days will be in the office.
- After 90 days if candidate is ready, then we can move to 4 days in office 1 day remote.
- After 1 year further adjustments can be made if it is appropriate - this is solely in the discretion of the Partners.
Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
