- Local residents within 50 miles of facility are not eligible
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents; adults may be treated in postpartum areas
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform IV therapy, manage oxygen delivery including Vapotherm high flow, and assist with BiPAP/CPAP as needed
- Support breastfeeding and infant feeding (breast/bottle/gavage) and care for central/implanted lines
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias; implement isolation precautions and infection control practices
- Collaborate with IV team, respiratory, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, Rapid Response, and interpreter services; coordinate with unit secretary
- Document care accurately in EPIC; participate in handoffs, care planning, and discharge preparation
- Maintain patient safety and comfort; adapt to a 3:1 patient ratio; assist with post-operative pediatric patients (e.g., simple procedures like appendectomy, T&A)
- Float to Post Partum and Special Care Nursery as needed; participate in routine unit operations and census management
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (WA) or eligibility; pending license accepted (facility prefers quick starts)
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; travel experience required; prior charge experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, PALS
- Pediatric med-surg care knowledge; neonatal care basics; experience with feeding and respiratory support devices
- Ability to work Nights and to float to Post Partum and Special Care Nursery; strong documentation and communication skills
- References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years (may include Charge RNs/Leads)
- Orientation: 24 hours; pre-start modules required (average ~16 hours)
