About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced OB Director (RN) to lead our Labor & Delivery department in Hancock, Michigan. This leadership role is ideal for a registered nurse with a strong clinical background in obstetrics who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while leading and developing a high-performing team.
The OB Director will oversee the daily operations of the department, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, manage staff performance, and promote a culture of safety and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for the Labor & Delivery department.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and departmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on excellent patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage departmental operations and support clinical excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Four (4) years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Two (2) years of healthcare leadership or management experience
- Current certifications preferred:
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- AWHONN Perinatal Orientation and Education Program (POEP)
