Little Miss Cafe is a small, woman-owned business in the heart of Pico Blvd. We serve coffee and tea + breakfast and lunch, with made to order food and drinks with homemade syrups. We pride ourselves on customer service and have many long time regulars who expect a kind greeting and certain level of quality when they walk in.
Prospective employees are preferred to have work experience in the food industry, but not a must. You do need to be able to lift heavy objects for grocery and pastry drop-offs and moving furniture.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their café experience
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and light food items following established recipes and standards
- Manage food handling responsibilities including food safety practices, food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness in food prep areas
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Support team members in serving customers efficiently during busy periods while managing time effectively
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in a coffee shop environment with strong coffee knowledge
- Familiarity with POS systems for smooth transaction processing
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume periods
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work both front of house (serving customers) and back of house (food prep) roles seamlessly
- Experience in food service or retail environments within the food industry is preferred
