Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests.
- Provide detailed explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance, utilizing estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive repair estimates while upselling appropriate additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, or transmission repairs.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the service process, updating them on vehicle status and explaining repair findings in an understandable manner.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately and process payments efficiently at vehicle pickup.
- Maintain detailed records of all service transactions, client interactions, and vehicle histories for future reference.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a service technician or in automotive repair environments.
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, collision repair, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, air brakes, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, alignment services, tire servicing, oil changes, auto body repair, and other automotive repairs.
- Experience in dealership or auto service management environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to upsell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Familiarity with auto estimating procedures including service writing and client communication strategies.
- Basic driving skills for test-driving vehicles when necessary.
- Clean driving record.
