Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance of Traffic Supervisor to lead traffic management operations on construction sites. Responsibilities
- Supervise the setup and maintenance of temporary traffic control devices, including signs, cones, barriers, and flagging operations.
- Coordinate with construction teams, project managers, and local authorities to develop effective traffic management plans tailored to each site.
- Lead a team of flaggers and traffic control personnel, providing training on safety procedures and proper equipment use.
- Monitor ongoing traffic conditions and adjust control measures as needed to optimize flow and safety.
- Ensure all traffic control activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups to identify hazards or deficiencies and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, incidents, and inspections for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site management or traffic control supervision with a strong understanding of construction processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and utility locating tools.
- Familiarity with operating construction machinery including Caterpillar equipment and paving machinery.
- Ability to operate or oversee operation of heavy equipment like loaders, graders, dozers, and backhoes safely and efficiently.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise flaggers and other team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multiple stakeholders on-site.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and traffic management in construction zones. Pay: $22.50 - $32.00 per hour
