Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical and administrative duties within diverse medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, dermatology, urgent care, and emergency medicine. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support to support diagnostic and treatment processes.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient information, medical histories, ICD coding, and procedural notes in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support medical office management through appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, insurance verification, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Conduct routine clinical procedures aligned with specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in the preparation of exam rooms and sterilization of equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital settings—including Level I trauma centers or PICU—to facilitate seamless patient care transitions and documentation accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with a background in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, or specialized fields such as dermatology or emergency medicine.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical-surgical procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred; relevant training must be maintained throughout employment.
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray imaging, and other clinical procedures required for diverse patient populations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage medical documentation accurately while prioritizing patient service needs.
- Inpatient experience or exposure to Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous; familiarity with hospital environments enhances performance.
