A successful Delivery Driver at Dunn Lumber ensures the safe and timely transport of lumber and
other building materials from our yards to customer locations and construction sites. Delivery Drivers
play a critical role in representing Dunn Lumber beyond the store, combining careful driving practices
with a strong commitment to customer service. In collaboration with yard and sales teams, this position
ensures that every delivery is accurate, secure, and handled with professionalism. A fully trained
Delivery Driver can uphold The Legacy of Trust daily by delivering materials reliably, maintaining a
clean and organized vehicle, and building trust with customers and coworkers through dependable
service and attention to detail.
This location is currently hiring for the following schedule(s):
Monday - Friday (6:30am - 3:30pm)
Monday - Friday (7:00am - 4:00pm)
Please Note: Upon hire, all employees complete two-week training period, at our Bellevue or Shoreline locations. For a new hire's first two weeks they work a training schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm. This training is mandatory, and employees receive daily stipends to offset travel expenses.

Safely load lumber and building materials onto the delivery truck using forklifts

Drive company vehicles to transport materials to designated locations, follow assigned routes and schedules

Offload and deliver materials to constructions sites, residential areas, or commercial locations in a timely and professional manner

Perform routine vehicles inspections and maintenance tasks, ensuring the vehicle is in proper working condition

Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner that aligns with Dunn Lumber Company values

Follow safety regulations and protocols at all times, ensuring personal and public safety during transportation and delivery

Previous Experience: Delivery driving experience is preferred.
Education, Certificates, or Licenses: This position needs to have a current and active driver’s license. This position will also need to maintain their in-house forklift certification. A CDL may be required for certain delivery vehicles. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Technical/Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers including the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, and this position may also require ability to perform basic math, such as counting, fractions, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
Supervisor Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands: The job requires the ability to lift heavy objects, including lumber and building materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more. Frequent lifting, carrying, and loading of materials onto the delivery truck is a key part of the role. Maneuvering carts, dollies, or wheeled equipment to transport materials may involve pushing, pulling, and steering heavy loads. The job entails standing, walking, and moving for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors, while loading materials, inspecting inventory, and making deliveries. Drivers may need to climb onto the delivery truck, step ladders, or loading docks to load or unload materials. The role involves frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to access, inspect, and secure loads for transportation. Operating forklifts, cranes, or other machinery to load and unload materials requires coordination, balance, and physical agility. Spending extended periods driving a delivery vehicle, which requires sitting, reaching, and operating controls.
Work Environment: This job constantly operates in an indoor retail store environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
