Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Bilingual (Spanish/English) After school teacher to join our agency to assist Newcomer and SIFE (Students with Interrupted Formal Education) with achieving academic success thorugh support.

Key Responsibilities
1. Staff Management and Development
- Lead, motivate, and inspire staff to deliver high-quality, engaging activities.
- Supervise and support part-time staff in implementing program routines, expectations, and strategies.
- Provide ongoing feedback to staff on classroom management, student engagement, and behavior support.
- Assist in areas such as positive reinforcement, child discipline, and safety procedures.
- Mediate and help resolve conflicts between staff members in a professional and respectful manner.
2. Student Supervision and Well-Being
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students at all times.
- Enforce program rules, procedures, and health and safety regulations, including during arrival, transitions, and dismissal.
- Model positive behavior and establish clear expectations to promote respect, empathy, and cooperation among students.
- Monitor student participation and progress, and share relevant feedback with students, parents, and instructors.
- Encourage student engagement in activities and foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion where every student feels welcome and valued.
3. Program and Activity Management
- Lead and organize daily activities such as homework help, reviews for exams and recreational games.
- Support the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and enrichment activities.
- Ensure program spaces are clean, organized, and safe for students and staff.
4. Communication and Administration
- Serve as a liaison between students, parents, staff, and school personnel.
- Maintain regular, professional communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and program updates.
- Complete administrative tasks such as taking daily attendance, managing sign-in/sign-out procedures, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
Qualifications
- bachelor’s degree in education.
- Experience working with school-age children in an after-school setting.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage groups of children and support positive behavior strategies.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
