Duties
- Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote literacy, math, and social skills
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized learning environment
- Engage children in hands-on activities that stimulate curiosity and support early childhood development
- Provide attentive care for toddlers and preschoolers, including diapering, feeding, and supervising outdoor play
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt instruction for children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or behavioral challenges
- Help monitor progress of individual students and communicate observations to lead staff for tailored support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and learning spaces
Skills
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones
- Experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Knowledge of special education strategies, including working with individuals with autism or disabilities
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans focused on literacy education, math concepts, and curriculum development
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Familiarity with Montessori or other child-centered teaching philosophies is a plus
- Prior preschool or daycare experience is highly valued; private school experience is advantageous
- Compassionate approach to working with children of diverse backgrounds, including toddlers and those requiring specialized care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to nurturing young learners
