A well-established, privately held manufacturer producing products for retail and foodservice customers nationwide. The company has built a strong reputation for product quality and food safety and is investing in its FSQA team to support continued growth.
Seeking an experienced FSQA Supervisor to lead food safety and quality assurance activities across 2nd shift operations. This role owns regulatory compliance, sanitation verification, and quality oversight on the floor while developing and holding a team of QA technicians accountable.
Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in a USDA-inspected environment and are comfortable being the food safety authority on shift.
- Lead all FSQA activities for 2nd shift, serving as the primary food safety decision-maker on the floor
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of QA technicians and line monitors
- Enforce and verify HACCP, SSOPs, and CCP monitoring throughout the shift
- Conduct and document pre-operational and operational inspections
- Partner directly with USDA/FSIS inspection personnel on regulatory matters
- Manage allergen control, sanitation verification, and environmental monitoring programs
- Oversee pathogen and product testing protocols, including Listeria and Salmonella controls
- Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions
- Maintain audit readiness for SQF, BRC, and customer audits
- Review and maintain accurate documentation, records, and shift reporting
- 3 or more years of FSQA experience in a meat, poultry, or further-processed food manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory or lead experience overseeing a QA team
- Working knowledge of USDA/FSIS regulations and HACCP principles
- HACCP certification (PCQI a plus)
- Familiarity with GFSI schemes such as SQF or BRC
- Strong documentation, communication, and decision-making skills
- Willingness and availability to commit to a 2nd shift schedule
