SMC Landcare is a commercial landscape company serving HOA, commercial, and institutional properties across North Texas. We are seeking an Agronomy Technician to support our turf and ornamental programs through disciplined, accurate, and compliant field execution.
This role is ideal for a licensed professional who takes pride in doing work the right way—with attention to detail, safety, and consistency.
The Agronomy Technician is responsible for executing turf and ornamental application programs in accordance with established agronomic standards, licensing requirements, and environmental regulations.
This position focuses on execution, not program design or sales. You will work across multiple properties and projects, applying prescribed treatments accurately, documenting work properly, and reporting field observations to agronomy leadership.
Agronomy defines the program. The Agronomy Technician executes it safely, accurately, and consistently.
Application Execution

Apply fertilizers, weed control products, and treatments to turf and ornamental areas

Calibrate and operate application equipment accurately

Follow labeled rates, timing, and application methods

Execute applications consistently across properties and projects
Compliance & Safety

Maintain all required applicator licenses and certifications

Follow federal, state, and local application regulations

Use PPE and follow all safety and material handling protocols

Store, transport, and dispose of materials properly
Documentation & Reporting

Record applications, materials, and observations in Aspire
-
Maintain accurate records for compliance and internal tracking

Report turf or ornamental conditions observed during applications

Communicate issues or concerns to Agronomy leadership
Equipment & Materials

Properly use, clean, and maintain application equipment

Perform routine equipment checks and calibration

Report equipment issues or material needs promptly
Coordination

Designing agronomic programs

Client communication or relationship management

Scheduling, routing, or staffing decisions

Pricing, estimating, or proposal development
Required

Experience performing turf and ornamental applications

Valid applicator license(s) as required by regulation

Strong understanding of application equipment and procedures

High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance

Ability to work independently across multiple properties

Commercial landscape experience

Experience using Aspire or similar job management systems

Bilingual (English/Spanish)
