As we continue to scale, we're seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to build and strengthen our HR function. This is a strategic, hands-on role for an HR professional who can establish best practices, ensure compliance, develop talent, and support leadership in creating a high-performance workplace.
About the Role
East Harbor Financial is seeking a highly experienced and certified Human Resources Specialist to lead our human resources operations and help shape the future of our organization. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership while overseeing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, compensation, benefits administration, policy development, onboarding, training, and overall employee experience.
The ideal candidate is someone who has successfully built or managed HR functions in fast-paced organizations, possesses a deep understanding of employment law and HR compliance, and is passionate about developing people and organizational culture.
What You'll Do
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and internal best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Advise management on employee relations matters, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and HRIS systems.
- Oversee compensation planning, salary benchmarking, and job classifications.
- Develop employee training, leadership development, and professional growth initiatives.
- Maintain personnel records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- Partner with leadership to improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
- Monitor HR metrics and provide reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Support organizational growth through workforce planning and succession planning.
- Manage HR compliance, audits, documentation, and employment-related risk management.
- Foster a positive, professional, and high-performance company culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Current HR certification required (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated progressive Human Resources experience, ideally within financial services, banking, lending, professional services, or other regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Florida employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, and related regulations.
- Experience managing employee relations, investigations, performance management, and compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting rapidly growing organizations.
- Experience developing HR departments or implementing HR infrastructure from the ground up.
- Knowledge of payroll administration and benefits management.
- Experience creating employee development and leadership training programs.
- Background in financial services, lending, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
