Job Summary
We are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator / Data Analyst to support Linux-based research computing environments and perform data management and analysis for scientific research projects. The ideal candidate will maintain laboratory computer systems, analyze research data, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with research teams to optimize computing resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux-based laboratory systems.
- Perform data analysis using Python, R, and Linux tools.
- Manage data storage, retrieval, backup, and recordkeeping.
- Troubleshoot Linux hardware and software issues.
- Maintain laboratory computing equipment and documentation.
- Support scientific research through computing solutions.
- Prepare purchase requests for computer equipment.
- Present technical findings during laboratory meetings.
- Collaborate with researchers on computing strategies.
- Optimize workflows using high-performance computing resources.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation.
- Perform quality control and corrective actions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration.
- Experience with data management and data analysis.
- Familiarity with Bash scripting and Git version control.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, Computer Information Systems, Computer Administration, or a related discipline.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year
