Brookside Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our privately owned practice in Orwigsburg, PA. Our hospital is an upbeat and fun small animal practice. We take pride in our ability to handle routine and complicated medical cases and procedures, and we highly value well-rounded team members who contribute to our supportive and fun work team. Our primary focus is on providing excellent care for both our clients and patients, as our hospital is a well-known and established member of it's community.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with appointments and procedures, providing support and ensuring accurate and quality patient care.
- Perform skilled veterinary procedures, including venipuncture, IVC placement, anesthesia monitoring, surgical recovery, digital radiology and laboratory work.
- Accurately administer various types of medications as prescribed by the veterinarians.
- Maintain and complete accurate and appropriate medical records for all outpatient, surgical, hospitalized, and more critical patients when indicated.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients.
- Collaborate with team members in a positive and supportive manner, contributing to a positive culture and cohesive work environment.
- Display the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without compromising patient care and safety.
Experience
- You are confident, accountable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- You communicate clearly, anticipate needs, and take pride in delivering excellence of care.
- Proficient venipuncture and catheter placement.
- Skilled anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
- Experience with digital radiology.
- Strong pharmacology knowledge.
- Exceptional hospitalized patient care.
- Efficient, organized exam room flow.
- Knowledge of Cornerstone software is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of dental ultrasonic cleaning a plus.
