Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)
Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Required Experience:
- Must have a verifiable past work history providing passenger transportation
- Ability to successfully complete all required driver training prior to transporting PSN clients.
- Complete Defensive Driving, First Aid, CPR/BLS, vehicle evacuation procedures, children’s mobility and securement devices, two-way communication procedures, passenger Assistance and addressing bio-hazard situations.
Travel Type: Road Warrior
Required Valid Driver’s License: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
Required Auto Insurance: Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to work with children with acute medical conditions.
- Ability to read and understand a map of the PSN service area (Milwaukee County) and utilize navigation tools if available.
- Knowledge to use work related equipment and applications such as cell phone and texting, computers, photo copier, Microsoft Office, and Teams.
- Communication skills, talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken and written word.
- Present a positive public image of the PSN Program and MCFI and maintain confidentiality
Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:
Physical Requirements : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Must be able to safely push a person in a wheelchair on a level floor or on a wheelchair ramp in various weather conditions. Must be able to transfer a person from a wheelchair to the toilet, chair, or van seat/car with use of a gait belt and/or manual or power Hoyer lift. Must be able to frequently move, transport, position, push/pull and/or lift objects, people or equipment weighing at least 50 pounds 450 feet. Talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
Visual Acuity : The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Working Conditions : This position may work in a variety of indoor and outdoor work environments which may include, various outdoor weather conditions, loud noises, and fluctuating temperatures and the occasional use of stairs.
