Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Handle cash drawer management with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and giving correct change
- Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
- Upsell products by highlighting features and benefits to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area; ensure merchandise is properly displayed and stocked on shelves
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing products and ensuring store displays are attractive and up-to-date
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is highly preferred; grocery store experience is a plus
- Supervising experience in a retail environment is advantageous for leadership opportunities
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math calculations is essential
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
- Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and inventory stocking processes
- Experience conducting product demos or upselling techniques to enhance customer engagement
