Job Title: Teacher Aide / Substitute
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, flexible, and student-focused Teacher Aide/Flexible Classroom Substitute to support classroom instruction and provide coverage across multiple grade levels as needed. This dual-role position assists teachers with daily classroom activities while serving as a substitute when regular teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of instruction and a positive learning environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to reinforce learning objectives.
- Substitute for teachers as assigned by following lesson plans and adapting to various grade levels and subject areas.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
- Monitor student behavior and implement established classroom expectations.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, field trips, and other school-related activities.
- Support students with diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Communicate with teachers and school staff regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
- Perform related duties as assigned to support the school's educational mission.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or college coursework in education preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom assignments and schedules.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of required background checks and any state or district substitute requirements.
