Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Beekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture and a strong understanding of bee management practices. This role involves maintaining healthy bee colonies, ensuring optimal honey production, and contributing to the overall sustainability of our farming operations.
Duties
- Manage and maintain bee colonies, including hive inspections, feeding, and disease management.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for hive transportation and maintenance.
- Perform heavy lifting to manage hives and equipment effectively.
- Utilize hand tools for hive assembly, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the irrigation of crops that support bee health and productivity.
- Conduct basic math calculations for inventory management and production tracking.
- Repair and maintain beekeeping equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Implement animal husbandry practices to promote the well-being of bee populations.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance farm operations and productivity.
Requirements
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly as part of daily tasks.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand tools effectively in various tasks related to beekeeping.
- A background in animal husbandry or agriculture is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of bee care.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while adhering to safety protocols.
