Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Stand-Up Reach Forklift Operator to support our fast-paced wine distribution center. In this role, you will safely operate a stand-up reach truck to move wine cases, pallets, and bulk product throughout the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of warehouse logistics, inventory handling, and best practices for storing and transporting wine products. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate order fulfillment and maintaining the quality and integrity of all wine inventory.
Duties
- Safely operate a stand-up reach forklift to transport wine cases and pallets throughout the distribution center.
- Perform high-reach picking and put-away of wine inventory while maintaining accuracy and product care.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound wine shipments according to warehouse and customer requirements.
- Support shipping and receiving by verifying counts, labels, and documentation for accuracy.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues to minimize operational downtime.
- Update warehouse management systems (WMS) with inventory movements, adjustments, and order completion details.
- Collaborate with supervisors to optimize storage of wine cases, improve picking efficiency, and maintain proper warehouse rotation methods (e.g., FIFO).
- Assist with cycle counts and full inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all OSHA and warehouse safety guidelines.
- Handle wine products with care to avoid breakage and maintain product quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating a stand-up reach forklift in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and WMS systems.
- Experience with case picking, palletizing, and handling fragile products preferred.
- Understanding of safety standards related to forklift operation and materials handling (OSHA compliance).
- Ability to lift and move wine cases and pallets safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking, storing, and documenting inventory.
- Effective communication skills and a strong team-oriented work ethic.
- Valid forklift certification required; additional safety training is a plus.
