Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced 3D Landscape & Pool Designer on an independent contract basis (1099). This hybrid role offers remote flexibility along with scheduled time in our office to collaborate with our team and review client projects. You will work closely with our Sales and Construction departments to translate customer requirements and site measurements into actionable, high-quality 3D visual designs and construction drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed, high-resolution 3D renderings and 2D design layouts for custom pools, hardscapes, outdoor kitchens, and landscape living spaces.
- Take direct input, preliminary sketches, and project criteria from the Sales and Construction teams and translate them into accurate visual concepts.
- Modify and revise designs based on feedback from sales reps, construction managers, and clients.
- Ensure designs adhere to local site constraints, grading, structural feasibility, and company construction standards.
- Attend scheduled in-office design meetings and team syncs as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Software Proficiency: Proven expertise in Structure Studios (Vip3D / Pool Studio / Landscape Studio) is a plus!
- Industry Experience: Solid background in pool design, outdoor living spaces, hardscaping, and residential landscape architecture.
- Team Player: Ability to take constructive feedback and clear direction from sales and construction personnel to meet project objectives.
- Technical Understanding: Understanding of spatial scale, terrain elevations, material callouts, and general pool/outdoor construction principles.
- Self-Motivated: Strong time management skills to handle multiple design projects and deliver on deadlines independently.
Position Details
- Classification: Independent Contractor (1099). You will receive a Form 1099 at the end of the tax year.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Work from home with required office hours for team coordination and project handoffs).
- Pay Rate: Competitive; project-based rate based on experience and portfolio quality.
