CNC Programmer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these 2D/3D Product Drawings.
- Use computer software to model cutting paths and programs changes accordingly.
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
- Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Train employees in how to properly operate CNC machines and programs.
COMPETENCY:
- Willing to travel locally (40 miles max.) between other plants when needed.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.
- Previous experience as a CNC programmer is required.
- Previous experience with MasterCam is required.
- Milltronics and ThermWood CNC experience is helpful.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and 2D/3D Drawings.
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise with the CNC machinery.
- The ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
- Should have a positive and professional attitude.
- Available to work weekends and overtime when needed.
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work under pressure during the troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to deescalate stressful situations when working with coworkers and contractors.
- Ability to legally operate company vehicles.
- Ability to work occasional overtime.
- Ability to accommodate overnight hotel stays at remote sites. (Rare occasion)
- Self-driven, with solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously with good prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain a neat and organized work area.
- Physical abilities to including lifting of 20-25 lbs.
