About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial and cost accounting data, supporting month-end close processes, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive informed business decisions.
This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting
- Maintain and oversee the standard costing system, including labor, overhead, and machine rates
- Ensure accurate inventory costing and valuation, including monthly reconciliation of perpetual inventory
- Analyze cost transactions to ensure proper allocation to jobs and reporting units
- Perform variance analysis and profitability reporting
- Support pricing initiatives in collaboration with sales and engineering
- Recommend and implement process improvements and internal controls
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review income statement accounts for accuracy
- Track and manage fixed assets and project accounting
- Allocate expenses appropriately across reporting units
Accounts & Cash Management
- Perform Accounts Payable (AP) entry and reconciliation, including vendor payments
- Support Accounts Receivable (AR) reconciliation and posting
- Complete bank reconciliations
Collaboration
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and sales teams to ensure financial alignment
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial reporting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting and computer use
- May require occasional standing, walking, or lifting up to 15 pounds
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
