Our client, a leading logistics and freight forwarding organization, is seeking an Import Coordinator to join their team. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be part of the Logistics Department supporting the Import Operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Jamaica, NY
Pay Range: $19 - $20 per hour
Shift: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday to Friday. Weekend work night be required.
Duration: temp-to-hire
What’s the Job?
- Split responsibilities between office operations (50%) and warehouse operations (50%) to support daily logistics activities.
- Provide high-quality customer service by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal operational teams.
- Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation, purchase orders, and other logistics paperwork to ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
- Coordinate shipments with brokers, carriers, service providers, and warehouse staff to ensure timely and efficient order fulfillment.
- Assist with warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory support, loading/unloading materials, and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What's Needed?
- High school diploma /GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics coordination
- Administrative experience required
- Strong computer skills (Excel required)
- Experience with freight forwarding or logistics preferred.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of air export regulations, hazardous materials handling, and international trade banking requirements.
