Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist in product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and promote sales.
- Engage in upselling techniques to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing merchandise display through effective merchandising practices.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Stock shelves and ensure products are replenished as needed to maintain inventory levels.
- Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support in their roles.
- Exhibit strong phone etiquette when answering calls from customers or vendors.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash register operations and retail math calculations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to better serve our diverse clientele.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus, including knowledge of stocking procedures and product placement.
- Basic math skills are essential for handling cash transactions accurately.
