Job Summary:
Dedicated and reliable janitor responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly facilities. Performs routine cleaning, sanitation, waste removal, and maintenance task to ensure buildings and office spaces remain presentable and functional. Follows safety procedures, manages cleaning supplies, and contributes to a healthy environment for employees, visitors, and occupants.
Primary Job Duties:
· Clean and sanitize offices, conference rooms, lobbies, break rooms, and common areas.
· Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
· Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
· Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenish supplies, and maintain hygiene standards.
· Dust furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and other surfaces.
· Clean glass doors, windows, and mirrors.
· Restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
· Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or repair needs to management.
· Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
· Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and buffers safely.
· Ensure compliance with workplace safety and sanitation regulations.
· Secure the building after cleaning when assigned to evening or overnight shifts.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma - or the equivalent preferred.
· Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience is an asset.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
· Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and sanitation procedures.
· Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
· Knowledge of waste disposal and recycling practices.
· Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and mops.
· Understanding of infection-control and hygiene standards.
· Basic maintenance and repair knowledge.
· Knowledge of time management and task prioritization techniques.
· Ability to identify and report safety hazards and maintenance issues.
