Dental Assistant — Leave Coverage (Possible Long-Term)
Focus Dental Studio in Springfield, MO is looking for a dental assistant to join our team.
We are a small, close-knit office that truly cares about our patients and each other. Our days can be busy and sometimes challenging — but at the end of the day, we go home smiling, knowing we did our best.
This position begins as coverage for a team member going on maternity leave. Depending on how things unfold, there is potential for the role to continue longer-term, and we're happy to talk openly about that with the right person.

Duties
- Provide chairside, four-handed support during a range of procedures, including general, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments, following strict infection-control and aseptic protocols
- Take dental X-rays and 3D scans, and document accurately in our practice software
- Manage patient intake, including medical history and current medications, in compliance with HIPAA
- Support the front desk with scheduling, records, and patient flow as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly sterilized clinical environment
Experience
- Prior experience in a dental clinic with familiarity in chairside assisting
- Working knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection-control practices
- Comfortable taking X-rays and using digital imaging, including 3D scanners
- Experience with dental practice-management software (we use Open Dental; training provided)
- Accurate with records, data entry, and administrative tasks
- Pediatric experience a plus
