Overview
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. This position combines accounting, payroll, sales tax compliance, bookkeeping, and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and capable of managing multiple client accounts while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and exceptional client service. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely compliance with state and federal requirements and maintaining a high standard of client service.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients in a friendly and professional manner; schedule appointments as needed
- Answer incoming calls and prioritize email communication
- Scan, organize, and file documents accurately
- Heavy emphasis on filing multi-state sales tax returns and process payments to federal, state and local agencies
- Heavy emphasis with accurately processing multi-state payroll and ensure timely submissions to the appropriate authorities
- Reconcile monthly client financials using QuickBooks
- Assist with general insurance and payroll audits
- Stay on top of weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines
- Assist with license renewals and handle other administrative or bookkeeping projects as they come up
- Maintain a strict standard of client confidentiality
- Other duties may include assisting with license renewals and additional projects
This position involves handling sensitive financial and personal information. A high level of discretion and ethical responsibility is essential.
Experience
- 2–3 years of accounting experience required
- Experience with multi-state sales tax and payroll filings strongly preferred
- Accounting or tax office experience preferred
- QuickBooks experience strongly preferred

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
