JOB Under the direction of the Aquatic Recreation Coordinator, the swim instructor / lifeguard ensures the safety of pool patrons by monitoring swimming activities, performing lifesaving procedures and enforcing pool rules and regulations. The swim instructor / lifeguard provides basic instruction in swim lesson classes and may also perform regular clerical and cleaning duties.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Assist with supervision of volunteers and program participants.

Attend all staff meetings.

Communicate feedback between participants and program supervisor.

Prepare necessary documentation.

Answer public questions regarding programs and facilities.

Maintain compliance with all applicable City, County and State laws and City Ordinances, policies and procedures at all times.

Perform minor maintenance and custodial duties.

Lifeguard and/or teach swimming lessons.

Communicate with City personnel, outside agencies and members of the community to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Perform pool chemical tests as required.
