Overview
Martin Eye Associates is seeking an enthusiastic, patient-focused Optical Consultant to join our growing team. We believe eyewear is more than just a medical device—it is an important part of our patients' vision, confidence, and lifestyle. Our Optical Consultants combine product knowledge with exceptional customer service to help patients make informed decisions while creating an outstanding patient experience.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has a positive attitude, communicates professionally, and takes pride in helping patients look and see their very best. Optical experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates strong customer service skills, professionalism, and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting frames that complement their lifestyle, prescription, and personal style.
- Educate patients on lens options and recommend products that best meet their visual needs.
- Accurately measure, order, dispense, and adjust eyewear.
- Verify vision insurance benefits and explain available options.
- Deliver exceptional patient service from frame selection through eyewear delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Assist with frame inventory, merchandising, and board management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming optical environment.
- Work collaboratively with doctors and staff to provide a seamless patient experience.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

- Comfortable educating patients and confidently making recommendations.

- Optical experience preferred but not required.
- ABO Certification is a plus but not required.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical record systems.
