Summary
We are seeking a skilled Emergency Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team at Fire Truck Solutions, LLC. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in fire apparatus. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability and safety of our vehicles.
Candidates must meet ALL of the following minimum qualifications to be considered for the position:
Minimum Qualifications?
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 3 years of heavy truck experience
- Strong working knowledge of vehicle mechanics
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen check
- Minimum of 75 lbs. lifting ability
Preferred Requirements
- Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certifications HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) Certifications- T series
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with emergency apparatus
- Electrical background
- Fabrication background
- Ability to complete mobile repairs when needed
- Commercial Driver’s License Class B or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
- High school diploma or GED
Responsibilities
Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repair work for fire/EMS vehicles.
- Perform vehicle, apparatus, gas, diesel, and electrical equipment repair
- Perform annual testing and maintenance include work in the following areas: hydraulic and air brakes; ABS; gas and diesel engines; advanced electrical and on-board computers; fuel delivery; hydraulics; transmissions; air systems; exhaust, axles and suspensions; fire pumps; foam systems and aerial apparatus
- Interpret work orders to identify the nature of reported problems and determine the exact nature and cause
- Perform inspections and certification of equipment in accordance with State, Federal and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards
- Test drive apparatus for diagnosis after repairs
- Keeps daily electronic log of time, materials and labor for record keeping and billing purposes

Pay: $22.00 - $42.00 per hour
