Responsibilities:
- Perform physical examinations and assessments of patients
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, lab results, and other diagnostic information
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Insert and manage intravenous (IV) lines for fluid and medication administration
- Assist with medical procedures such as gastric lavage and sterile processing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition and treatment options
- Document patient care activities in medical records accurately and timely
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU or critical care setting
- Proficient in conducting physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic information
- Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration, and sterile processing techniques
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Ability to triage patients based on acuity level and prioritize care accordingly
- Experience in providing dementia care is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
