Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to maintain a hygienic work environment.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
- Support meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient food prep.
- Experience in food safety management and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining flexibility for special requests.
- Prior kitchen experience involving operating commercial kitchen equipment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
