River Valley Gastroenterology is currently accepting applications for Physician Assistant to work alongside our Gastroenterologist, Hrair Simonian, MD.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up office visits with patients who have previously established care with Dr. Simonian. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but extended hours may be necessary to finish seeing patients.
- Continue treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic conditions.
- Order and follow up with labs, medical imaging, and endoscopic procedures as medically necessary
- Perform minor in office procedures when indicated: feeding tube adjustment, anoscopy, etc..
- Educate patients and families regarding importance of adherence to the treatment plan, preventative treatments, medication compliance and disease management.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in the electronic health record.
- Prescribe and refill medications when appropriate.
- Refer to specialty providers when needed.
Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Arkansas.
- Basic understanding of electronic health record documentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, team-based environment.
- Current BSL/ACLS required.
- No experience necessary.
