We are seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic to join our busy service team in Babylon, NY. This is not an entry-level role; you must have proven professional experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing watercraft. The ideal candidate will be completely self-sufficient in troubleshooting engine systems, fluent in English to communicate effectively with our team and clients, and possess reliable personal transportation to ensure punctual daily attendance. Pay will be dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair intricate malfunctions across inboard, outboard, and sterndrive engines.
Perform precision maintenance including winterization, commissioning, and system tune-ups.
Troubleshoot marine electrical, electronic instrumentation, and fuel delivery systems.
Execute water testing and sea trials on local waterways to guarantee high-quality craftsmanship.
Maintain clear records of diagnostic findings and parts required on work orders.
Mandatory Requirements
Experience: Proven professional experience as a marine mechanic is strictly required.
Language: Must be fully fluent in English (written and verbal) to read technical manuals and interface with customers.
Transportation: Must possess reliable personal transportation to commute to our Babylon shop daily.
