Position Summary
The Teacher supports the Lead Teacher/Site Supervisor in creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. This role plays an essential part in implementing daily routines, supporting lesson plans, and ensuring the well-being of all children while fostering a positive relationship with families.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children’s overall development.
● Support the Lead Teacher/Site Supervisor in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom.
● Engage children in active learning through structured and unstructured play.
● Monitor and document children’s progress in accordance with developmental goals and program guidelines.
● Assist with meals, toileting, and other daily care routines as needed.
● Communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, and team members.
● Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
● Adhere to all licensing regulations, company policies, and health and safety procedures.
● Others duties as assigned
Qualifications
● Education: Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) semester units, including core courses: Child/Human Growth and Development; Child/Family/Community or Child and Family Relations; Programs/Curriculum.
● Teacher Child Development Permit or higher preferred.
● Experience: At least 6 months of experience working in an early childhood program (paid or volunteer).
● Certifications: Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire. California Mandated Reporter Training Certificate (completed within 7 days of hire). Health & Safety Training per California licensing requirements.
● Knowledge & Skills: Understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education. Ability to plan, organize, and implement developmentally appropriate activities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
● Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
● Ability to pass a background check
● Pass a TB test
● Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
● Frequent bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
● Active participation in classroom and playground activities.
Compensation: $20 - 24
