Residential Building Maintenance Technician
Pay Range: $23-25/hr. (DOE)
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Shift: 1st

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of an industrial facility. This position is responsible for maintaining facility infrastructure, completing general building repairs, and supporting preventative maintenance across building systems and exterior grounds, and shared workspaces. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, hands-on, and able to troubleshoot facility issues while minimizing disruption to daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to building maintenance requests and work orders.
- Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, locks, doors, windows, and appliances.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and assist with maintenance of HVAC, heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Complete routine preventative maintenance to reduce emergencies and extend the life of building systems and equipment.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, landscaping, gutter cleaning, and weatherization.
- Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and inventory in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
- Document completed work, parts used, inspections, and maintenance concerns accurately.
- Report safety hazards, code concerns, major repairs, or outside contractor needs to management.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable building standards.
- Participate in emergency maintenance response or on-call rotation as required.
- Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, apartment maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude when working with residents, vendors, and staff.
- Ability to prioritize work orders and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
- EPA Section 608 certification, OSHA training, or other maintenance certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry maintenance materials, tools, and equipment, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and work in mechanical rooms, basements, crawl spaces, or other building areas as needed.
- Occupational hazards include; dust, exposure to industrial grade cleaning chemicals, exposure to high noise levels (hearing protection offered), and exposure to variety of temperatures.
