Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all sterile equipment and supplies are ready and properly maintained.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments, suturing, and managing specimens with precision.
- Monitor patient vital signs continuously and assess their condition before, during, and after surgery to ensure safety.
- Administer medications including anesthesia agents, IV infusions, and pain management therapies following strict protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Implement infection control procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of patient safety.
- Provide post-operative care instructions and support discharge planning to facilitate smooth recovery processes.
Requirements
- 2 years of RN experience
- OR experience required
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications
