American Traveler is hiring an experienced Infusion RN for a hospital-based outpatient oncology infusion center requiring prior infusion/oncology experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Hospital-based Infusion Center providing outpatient oncology care
-
Patient population includes solid tumor cancers, lymphomas, chronic leukemia, iron deficiency, myelodysplastic syndrome, and neuro-oncology cases
-
Performs specialized procedures such as bone marrow aspirations, intravesicular chemotherapy for bladder cancer, and intrathecal chemotherapy
-
Utilizes specialized equipment including Cyracom interpreter machine, blood warmer, Hoyer lift, vein finder, and ultrasound-guided IV placement machine
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Day shift schedule with variable 5x8 hour options (8:30a-5p, 9a-5:30p, or 9:30a-6p)

May float to any campus within the health system as needed

Uses Epic EMR system

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Required certifications: BLS and ONS/ONCC (Chemo certification)

Preferred certifications: ACLS and OCN

Previous infusion center and outpatient oncology experience required

Previous Charge RN experience preferred

Epic EMR experience required

Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG competency exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)

Proficiency in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and chemotherapy administration
-
Skilled in recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and extravasation injury
-
Experience with psychosocial care including hospice, advance directives, and symptom management
-
Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced outpatient infusion and oncology setting
-
Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive infusion therapies while monitoring for treatment side effects
-
Coordinate care across a range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
-
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and supportive care needs
-
Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
-
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered

RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
