Job Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide patient care, support medical staff, and ensure smooth clinical operations across diverse medical settings.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support when necessary
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans
- Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling administrative tasks related to billing and ICD coding
- Assist in urgent care and behavioral health care settings by supporting physicians with procedures and patient care activities
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols including infection control practices and hospital experience standards such as Level I or Level II trauma center procedures
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical-surgical practices
- Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and records management
- Skilled in patient service delivery with excellent communication abilities and compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), vital signs measurement, and medication administration accurately
- Familiarity with ICD coding for diagnoses documentation and understanding of hospital medicine protocols
- Knowledge of inpatient procedures, emergency medicine protocols, and Level I/II trauma center operations
- Experience working in dermatology clinics or geriatrics is a plus; familiarity with OR procedures is advantageous
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
