We are seeking an experienced Employment Immigration Paralegal to join the Immigration Practice Group of HunterMaclean. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling a broad range of employment-based immigration matters and managing high-volume caseloads for corporate clients. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational skills, strong client service abilities, and the capacity to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and fellow legal staff.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong legal writing skills, exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining excellent client service.
Our firm is technological centered. Employees are required to attend training courses with our in-house trainer. We are actively looking for employees who will proactively use the technology and other firm resources available to problem solve and continue to improve their work.
Duties:
- Prepare and manage a wide variety of employment-based immigration matters, including:
o H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, O-1, E-1/E-2, and other nonimmigrant visa petitions.
o PERM labor certification applications.
o Employment-based immigrant petitions, including EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, and National Interest Waiver (NIW) cases.
o Adjustment of Status (I-485), Employment Authorization Documents (EADs), and Advance Parole applications.
- Draft immigration forms, support letters, and petition packages for attorney review.
- Collect, organize, and analyze client documentation and supporting evidence.
- Monitor case progress and maintain accurate records within immigration case management systems.
- Track filing deadlines, priority dates, visa bulletin developments, and case expiration dates.
- Prepare responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and Department of Labor audits.
- Coordinate recruitment activities and documentation related to PERM labor certification processes.
- Communicate directly with corporate representatives, foreign national employees, government agencies, and third-party vendors regarding case requirements and status updates.
- Assist attorneys with legal research, case strategy implementation, and client consultations.
- Maintain compliance with firm procedures, government regulations, and client service standards.
- Train and mentor junior paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff when appropriate.
- Support client reporting, case tracking, and immigration program management initiatives.
- Meet the required billable time requirement of the firm.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of employment-based immigration paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate immigration environment.
- Demonstrated experience handling high-volume business immigration matters from initiation through filing.
- Strong knowledge of:
o USCIS procedures
o Department of Labor regulations and PERM requirements
o Department of State consular processing
o Employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories
- Experience preparing complex employment-based immigration filings with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with immigration case management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting multinational corporations and high-volume employer-sponsored immigration programs.
- Knowledge of I-9 compliance and employment authorization verification processes.
- Experience preparing executive-level immigration petitions, including EB-1 and O-1 cases.
- Familiarity with global mobility or cross-border workforce issues.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
